Nail Spotting: Sets We’re Obsessed With

Most of us spend all day either texting or typing - naturally, we’re obsessed with our nails. Sure, there’s the maintenance of keeping our nails even and chip-free, but every few weeks when it’s time for our manicure, we’d be lying if we said we don’t get a little thrill trying out new nail designs and trends. Fashion and style are definitely calling the shots when it comes to 2023 nail trends. Let’s see what’s on the nail files forecast:

Embossy

Textural nails and embossed nail designs will gain momentum throughout the year. Combining the clean, minimalist approach to nail styles that have dominated since the pandemic, with organic and carefree shapes that lean into soft-girl and cottagecore styles.

You Go, Glen Cocoa

In contrast, richer tones of brown will be popular amongst nail inspo, and not just for the cooler months. We’re calling it now that deeper shades of brown are likely replacing the cool girl olive of the last few years and her predecessor, business-casual navy, as the most popular nail neutral.

Chrome Away From Home

We’ll see more experimentation with chrome finishes, using minimal and understated techniques like the Hailer Bieber nails, as well as more graphic options like chrome ombre sets and fully metallic manis.

Ready for this Jelly

Jelly nails have had moderate appreciation for the last half decade, and the trend will have lasting power for 2023 nail designs. Incorporating additional elements like chrome, reflective appliques, and gems, we’ll see a lot of kawaii-inspired semi-transparent sets in a variety of settings.

Maxi-mani

We’ve seen these referred to as goth nails, but there’s a general ‘more is more’ mindset with nail trends for 2023, embracing darker colors, more graphic designs, and futuristic elements.
