Long Weekend Getaway Beauty Essentials

Typically going away for a long weekend has meant the ultimate sacrifice - skipping retinol, or other key skincare that is essential to keeping skin smooth sailing. The holiday season may have passed, but there’s still plenty of PTO in our future, and that means a quick list of travel beauty essentials ready to go as soon as we are. Whether we plan to be the reigning champ of red-eye flights, or our long weekend getaway will be much more local, here’s a list of travel minis and travel-size skincare that gets to come along for the ride.

Cleanser: First Aid Beauty Pure Skin Face Cleanser

Gentle on the skin this soothing, creamy, travel-size cleanser easily removes makeup and refreshes the face. Plus it pairs perfectly with basically any skin type.

Serum: The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5

There’s more magic in a single ounce of this than the other 12 serums we hoard back home - and all for less than $10 dollars. This makes the top of our travel beauty essentials list because it keeps the skin hydrated and happy in any climate.

Moisturizer: E. L. F. Skin Daily Hydration Moisturizer

Just ~2.5 ounces and it comes with a pump?? The perfect mini travel moisturizer does indeed exist. Featuring glycerin, jojoba, and shea for deeply penetrating hydration that lasts, this option makes it into our travel beauty routine morning and night.

SPF: Supergoop SPF 35 Mineral Powder

Setting powder and SPF all in one?? Shut up and take my money. Available in translucent or complexion shades, this powder-brush duo doesn’t just make itinto our travel beauty routine, but our daily touch-up routine, too.

Primer: Milk Mini Hydro Grip Primer

Fan favorite for a reason, this Milk mini primer holds onto makeup tighter than our Skims holds onto us. Vegan and loaded with restorative ingredients like aloe and hyaluronic acid, this mini is making a major impact.

Complexion: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Mini Foundation

No matter where we’re going or what we’re doing, our face base has got to be flawless. Available in 40 shades (!) this foundation looks poreless and radiant on every skin tone.

Concealer: E. L. F. Camo Concealer

As far as travel size makeup goes, concealer should be on easy mode; but with this buildable coverage, lovely shade options, and price tag at pennies, this is the option that we’re reaching for on every trip.

Bronzer/Blush: Anastasia Beverly Hills Face Palette

A highlighter, blush, and bronzer trio that’s handy for just adding a bit of color to bare skin, or painting on a full face. Literal perfection.

Eyes: Too Faced Born This Way Shadow Palette

If we’re being totally honest, whatever we use on the eyes needs to have a mirror; sorry, didn’t make the rules. With that said, this palette comes with a perfectly balanced mix of mattes, shimmers, and just enough color options to flatter any makeup look.

Lips: Tarte Maracuja Juicy Lip Plumping Gloss

Creamy, non-sticky, with a sweet yet subtle hint of color, this is 100% your justification to pick up the adorable mini version of everyone’s favorite gloss.

Setting Spray: Charlotte Tilbury Mini Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray

When we’re on the go, we don’t want to be worried about our makeup creasing or caking. This luxurious makeup mist preserves our makeup to runway standards, without leaving a film or sheen behind. The only downside? Now we’re addicted.

Fragrance: Lake & Skye Santal Gray

Traveling is absolutely the time to smell sexy. We reach for this musky, clean travel-size fragrance when we’re ready to play the alluring, mysterious stranger in someone else’s story.
